About Us

Welcome to our nursery. Harrington Day Nursery is owned by Brian and Dot Hill. Our Manager is Joanne Stokes and our Deputy is Maxine O’Brien.

Our nursery has CCTV both inside and out but not in changing/toilet areas. This is to ensure the protection of both staff and children.

Our nursery has a baby unit for children aged 0-2 and is supervised by Georgina Moule. Our Tweenie room is for children aged 2-3 and supervised by Emma Pratt. Our Pre-school/Early Years Unit is for children aged 3-4 and supervised by Maxine O'Brien/Yvonne Matthews and our After School and Holiday Club is also supervised by Yvonne Matthews for children aged 4-12.

All of our staff in nursery are either fully qualified to Level 3 or completing their qualification in childcare to a minimum of Level 2. Our staff are caring and friendly and are always here to offer you advice and guidance should you need it. We pride ourselves on always putting your child first!

Our setting has staff who co-ordinate areas important to nursery care such as Special Education Needs, Behaviour, Health & Safety and Child Protection. Each person responsible is listed on the main board in the hall.

Our nursery is governed by Ofsted and our registration number is 218430. Our latest inspection report can be viewed on their website which is

Our setting implements learning through the Early Years Foundation Stage. The areas of learning are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Communication and Language, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Physical Development and Expressive Arts and Design. Each day activities are planned within each room and each child has a profile which monitors their learning and stage of development.

Each child is allocated a key worker when they start. Their key worker will encourage and nurture your child to achieve to the best of their ability. At the end of each term they will send a report home which will explain to parents how they are achieving but parents are encouraged to speak to their child's key worker as and when they wish to. Our key worker system is monitored carefully. If your child should be bonding with a different member of staff more so than their allocated Key Worker, consideration will be made to change if it will be in the child's best interests.

Attached is some information on each room within our setting.
